Pr. Jimenez & Claudia
Founded in 2007 - Pastor Jimenez and wife Claudia began a Bible Club for the neighborhood children in their home. They have lived in the neighborhood over 12 years and have prayed to begin a church there for some time. When plans were made to finally start the church, pastor Jimenez found out he had cancer. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy, most importantly were the many prayers on his behalf. Thanks to God’s grace he has been given a clean bill of health.
For the past three years, the church has met in the pastors remodeled garage. There is standing room only with over 60 packing into the small area. A fruitful ministry is happening among the many young people attending. Most of these young people come from single parent homes, live with grandparents and several have parents that are on drugs or in jail. Pray for the many young people coming to Christ that through them their families will be reached with the Good News of God’s love.
ANSWERED PRAYER FOR CHURCH PROPERTY!
Through a loan program of the CGGC (Churches of God, General Conference), two corner properties were purchased in May of 2009 (see photos below). They are located in a strategic location of the region poised for growth. There is an estimated 160,000 living in this region with 2200 low housing apartments to be built starting in 2010. The city has invested heavily in this region and plans are set to build a large mall and even an Wal-Mart type mega store!
